榎坂─Enokizaka─
京町には多く坂があるが、そのうちの一つが榎坂。上熊本駅の近くに位置しており、駅から歩いて向かうことが可能だ。
榎坂の魅力は、なんといっても景色の美しさ。住宅地の隙間から見る熊本には、阿蘇からは望めない唯一無二の魅力と風情がある。

There are many slopes in Kyomachi, and one of them is Enokizaka. It is located near Kami-Kumamoto Station, and it is possible to walk from the station.
The charm of Enokizaka is the beauty of the scenery. Kumamoto, seen from the gap in the residential area, has a unique charm and atmosphere that cannot be desired from Aso.
入道坂─Nyudozaka─
入道坂を綺麗に写真に収めるならば、下から見上げたアングルが良いだろう。
微妙にうねった形状ゆえに絶妙な味があり、ドラマチックな情景となっている。

次に紹介する坂は、観音坂。
榎坂の近くに位置し、坂の上からは住宅街を見下ろすことができる。紹介する坂の中では、傾斜が最も急で、登るのも一苦労だ。

新坂─Shinzaka─
夏目漱石が第五高等学校着任時に人力車でこの坂を越えたとされる、歴史的価値を持った場所。
その際夏目漱石が熊本の街並みを眺望し、「熊本は緑の都だな」と言ったことから、熊本は緑の都と呼ばれるようになった。
夏目漱石：近代日本文学の文豪の一人。「坊ちゃん」、「吾輩は猫である」などが代表作。
A place with historical value that Natsume Soseki is said to have crossed this slope by rickshaw when he arrived at the Fifth High School.
At that time, Natsume Soseki looked at the cityscape of Kumamoto and said, "Kumamoto is a green city," so Kumamoto came to be called the green city.

春木坂─Harukizaka─
この坂を訪れて一番に目を引くのは、整然とした階段。登った先には涼しげな風と美しい景色が待っている。
白の手すり越しに望む景色が最大の魅力で、物語のワンシーンを想起させるような美麗な雰囲気を纏っている。
(余談だが、この坂は我々イチオシ。是非夕日とともに楽しんでいただきたい。)
